MENTRI Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir has called on officers and trainers of Kemas (Community Development Department) to serve the people with increasing fervour.
United: Dr Zambry (centre) and state secretary Datuk Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan (fourth from right, with red tie) posing for photographs with the state exco and Kemas employees after a meeting at the state secretariat building on Tuesday. “It takes passion and strong will for someone to serve the rakyat and meet their needs, especially in rural areas where amenities are less comfortable.
“Your role as Kemas employees are vital to the government as you act as our eyes and ears, seeing and listening to the issues faced by the rakyat and working out solutions,” he said in his speech during a gathering with 1,437 Kemas employees on Tuesday.
A light moment: Dr Zambry with some of the Kemas staff. Dr Zambry said there were no other social organisation, that was established at the grassroots level, as Kemas.
“I believe Kemas employees are strong physically and mentally, are united, aggressive and ready to take on any challenges in developing the community,” he said to thunderous applause.
Dr Zambry later announced a RM100,000 allocation for the state Kemas Welfare Club.
