ePaper a sweet deal
CHASING the latest news is so easy with The Star’s newspaper and ePaper bundle. Not only is the price very competitive but just to sweeten the pot, a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is being offered every day to lucky subscribers.
Two new fans of the ePaper, Khaw Kye Yeow and his wife Ch’ng Keow Eng, both 60, went to 1st Avenue Mall in Penang just to sign up for the package.
They had missed the roadshow held at Straits Quay earlier.
“I don’t own any smart devices at the moment. I hope to win the daily Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus prize so I can use the ePaper when I’m on the move.
“I may be old but I’m still young at heart and will not have problems using the ePaper,” he said.
Hot off the press: Khaw and his wife Ch'ng comparing the hard copy and soft copy version of The Star during the ePaper bundle promotion at the roadshow at 1st Avenue Mall Another loyal reader Ong Liang Seng, 55, who had subscribed to the package earlier, was also at the roadshow to learn more about the ePaper function.
“I travelled from Bandar Baru Air Itam just to check on the ePaper.
“I am not an IT-savvy person but I will learn how to use it.
“The highlight for me is the audio function of ePaper. Now I can listen to it if I don’t have time to read it,” he said, adding that he bought a tablet because of the ePaper.
During the promotion from May 1 to July 31, the public can subscribe to the package at a special price of RM260, a savings of RM200 compared to the usual newspaper price of RM460 a year.
The subscription forms are also available at The Star newspaper offices in George Town, Bayan Lepas, Seberang Jaya, Alor Setar and Ipoh.
