MANY are fascinated by magic tricks such as mind reading and spoon bending. But few people know it is merely our brains playing tricks on us, utilising what scientists call the neuroscience of illusion.
Fire away: Stephenson will be demonstrating his mind tricks to visitors at the festival. Those intrigued by such mind tricks can witness them first hand, courtesy of young magician Ross Stephenson, who will be performing at the 8th Malaysia Festival of the Mind.
The two-day festival will be held at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman’s Perak campus this weekend from 10am to 5pm.
Renowned speakers such as international hypnotherapist Terry Winchester will also be speaking on topics such as photographic memory and meditation.
There will also be workshops on dreams, hypnosis, mind mapping and brain-compatible learning.
Admission is free.
