New scenic venue for annual carnival
STILL trying to figure out how to spend your Saturdays?
If you are, get ready to be ‘wowed’ this coming Saturday by heading over to the fourth Calvary Carnival at the Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus, Subang Jaya (near LDP- Sunway Toll).
This year’s carnival has a new venue with its inspiring architecture and landscape, and will see over 140 stalls set up to attract over 15,000 visitors.
Visitors can literally have their breakfast, lunch and pack their dinner on that day from the vast array of food stalls available. Vendors will be serving up a storm of local and international cuisine such as nasi lemak, popiah, char kuey teow, cupcakes, assam laksa, fried chicken chop and pasta.
No easy feat: Children will have games galore at the carnival. Durian lovers have not been left out as high-grade tasty durians will be sold at the durian stall. This is the latest addition to the food stalls this year.
A potpourri of interesting items will be up for grabs for shoppers at the bazaar ranging from unique collectibles to the latest gadgets, from funky accessories to fashionable apparel. Educational toys and books at jumble sale prices will also be on the list.
In addition, BookXcess has taken up the largest space at the carnival to offer a variety of books at discounted prices.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of games for children as well as adults. Meet Lucas the Clown, hop on the giant Bungee Trampoline, encounter Slam Dunk, and a host of other carnival games with loads of prizes to be won.
Other interesting activities include performances by special needs children from Calvaryland and a Fear Factor Durian Challenge, among others. Sim Siew Lan aka DJ Blue will be present as one of the carnival deejays.
The carnival is a fundraising effort for the building of the Calvary Convention Centre (CCC) in Bukit Jalil and is expected to be completed in March 2013.
Admission and parking are free of charge.
The carnival begins at 9am and ends at 5pm. Carnival coupons will be used for all transactions and participation and will be available at the venue.
