Convenience store robbery suspect nabbed
GEORGE TOWN: Luck ran out for a man, said to have robbed at least seven 24-hour convenience stores of RM14,000 over the past month, when he was nabbed at a police roadblock in Sungai Nibong here.
The man, 23, who was on his motorcycle, was searched and four knives together with 10 Eramin 5 pills were found on him.
He was then brought to his house nearby where RM580, cartons of cigarettes, handphones and several sharp weapons were recovered at about 1.30am on Sunday.
George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said police believed they have solved at least seven such robberies with the man’s arrest.
