Engineer set to join heritage walk

ENGINEER Hoh Kim Keng loves taking part in Penang Starwalk because he is able to spend quality time with his family and friends.

“I prefer to take part in the non-competition category, so that I can enjoy the walk with my family and friends while exercising,” he said.

Hoh, 40, had been taking part in Penang Starwalk for five years but missed out on last year’s event.

“I am signing up this year as I want to experience the heritage route. It would be wonderful for my family and I to spend time together walking while enjoying the scenery,” he said after signing up for the walk at Star Northern Hub in Bayan Lepas yesterday.

Another person, who signed up, was housewife How Pek Geok, 69. She had been taking part in Penang Starwalk for 10 years, except last year.

All excited: Hoh showing his redemption coupons at tStar Northern Hub in Bayan Lepas.

“I am quite interested in the heritage route, so I am taking part this year,” she said after registering for the non-competition ca-tegory.

Spotted at The Star Pitt St. was retiree S. Ramaiyah, 63, who had been participating in Penang Starwalk for the past few years.

“I have been taking part in the competition category but unfortunately, I was disqualified the last two years because I am a runner and I unintentionally sped up my walk into a run.

“I have been practising and this year I hope to win something,” said Ramaiyah, who registered for the Men’s Diamond Veteran ca-tegory.
