Enjoyable retreat for 1,000 workers
MALAKOFF Corporation Berhad showed employees its appreciation for their contributions to the company by organising an employee appreciation retreat in Penang, which was attended by over 1,000 employees and family members.
A total of 127 Malakoff employees received long-term service awards during the retreat.
Forty-five employees have been with the company for 10 years while 82 more have served the company for over 15 years.
Malakoff chief executive officer Zainal Abidin Jalil said the company understood that the wide skills, knowledge, diversity, and energy of the employees were its biggest assets.
“We truly value our employees’ relentless dedication to our company. This commitment is crucial as Malakoff moves into its next phase of growth,” Zainal Abidin said.
Cheques worth a total of RM336,000 were presented to the award recipients while a RM500 cash incentive was presented to each of the 25 children of Malakoff employees, who excelled in UPSR, PMR, and SPM as part of the Malakoff academic excellence award.
Senior project executive Edily Aghus, who was present with his family, said he was happy that his daughter was a recipient of the excellence award.
“I hope she will be further encouraged to perform well in her studies,” he said.
The retreat, themed ‘Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Productive Work’, took place over two days.
The activities included an array of sporting events like football, tennis, squash, badminton, golf, and indoor games.
Malakoff ventures assistant vice-president Sharifuddin Othman said the retreat was a fun experience as it let him see the lighter side of his colleagues.
The retreat closed with a hip-hop inspired dinner, which saw Malakoff employees and family members dressed in their best urban bedazzled outfits.
