Visitor captivated by picture of film director
BUSINESSMAN Timothy Wan Choon Siong found the portrait of the late renowned Malaysian director Yasmin Ahmad engrossing.
The 31-year-old film lover said the talented Yasmin had produced many inspiring advertisements and films which illustrated the reality of living amidst the different races in the country.
“I learnt the importance of unity and tolerance after watching her productions on television.
“Her photograph reminds me of her meaningful works shared with the public,“ he said.
He was among the latest to visit the Hotshots press photography exhibition at The Star Pitt St. in Jalan Mesjid Kapitan Keling, Penang, yesterday.
Wonderful images: Wan giving the thumbs-up to the photos display at the exhibition at The Star Pitt St. Wan, whose hobby is photography, said the exhibition titled ‘Hotshots: 40 years of great news images by The Star photographers’ was impressive.
“The pictures displayed reflect the history of Malaysia,” he said, adding that he would bring his friends over.
The featured photographs are taken from the coffeetable book ‘Hotshots’ which was published to mark the paper’s 40th anniversary last year.
The book contains some of the best images captured by The Star’s award-winning photographers.
The exhibition will end on Aug 12.
It is open from 10am to 6pm daily at Level 1 of The Star Pitt St. at 15, Jalan Mesjid Kapitan Keling.
