Charity ride this Sunday
THE Clean, Green and Safe Charity Ride 2012 which was originally scheduled for June 24 will be held this Sunday.
Event organising chairman Lim Cheng Hoe said the event was rescheduled due to the haze, adding that he hoped 1,000 people would be able to take part in the charity ride.
“We have reached our target of RM40,000 which will be used to improve St John’s Ambulance Malaysia (SJAM) bicycle response unit,” Lim said.
“The 30km ride will start from the Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC) Penang campus in Lorong Lembah Permai Tiga, Tanjung Bungah.
“Then it will go to Jalan Batu Ferringhi and Jalan Teluk Bahang before returning to the starting point.”
Penang Local Government and Traffic Management Committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow and Tanjung Bungah assemblyman Teh Yee Cheu will flag off the event at 7.30am.
