Mall celebrating the 1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival
KUANTAN: The East Coast Mall, popularly known as ECM, is currently celebrating the 1Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival — and it is perfectly timed with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
ECM centre manager Chai Wen Yew said the period of the carnival from June 15 to Sept 2, was also timely with the variety of programmes held by the state government and its agencies such as the recently concluded Malaysian Games.
“The period of the carnival this year is the right time for shoppers to shop, what more with the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Most shoppers will search for their family needs including household items, decorations, clothes and shoes,” he said recently.
He added that Raya apparel, cookies and gifts could be purchased at ECMs Ramadan Bazaar at Ground Floor, Walkway Zone 1, 2, and 3 from July 19 until Aug 18.
Timely event: Amran launching the East Coast Mall’s Mega Sale campaign in Kuantan. Chai said shoppers could also expect to meet ECM’s Raya mascot besides having opportunities to grab green packets on every Saturday and Sunday from now until Aug 18. On Aug 19 and 20, the packets will be given out at 3pm.
“In conjunction with the carnival, shoppers can shop and stand a chance to win over RM60,000 worth of Anogen home furniture with a minimum purchase of RM200 in a single receipt at any outlet from June 15 until Sept 2,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pahang Tourism Malaysia director Amran Abdul Rahman said the carnival would definitely contribute to Pahang’s economy and its target to increase the number of visitors or tourists from all over the country.
“Two years ago, the per capita tourist expenditure in shopping was RM659.70. Last year it increased to RM707.88 while for this year, it is quite logical to expect more,” he said.
Amran said tourists’ shopping expenditures was the second main component in the whole income generation after their expenses on accommodation.
He said the quality aspect and price of goods should not be neglected while promoting sales in various carnivals and tourist destinations.
“It is better for us to concentrate on customer satisfaction so that the activities can be increased simultaneously,’’ he said.
