WITH Hari Raya Aidilfitri just a week away, Takaful Malayisa brought some cheer to 44 children from the Lipis Orphanage Education Association (PPAYL) at Aeon Wangsa Maju recently by organising a shopping trip for them.
This is the second year the company is organising such an event. The children from Pahang were given RM250 each to get themselves a set of traditional clothes and a pair of footwear.
They were also given duit raya of RM50 each.
The children aged between four and 17 were assisted by Takaful Malaysia employees as they went about the department store to pick their clothes.
Here you go: Mohammed Hassan presenting duit raya to the children. Takaful Malaysia group managing director Datuk Mohammed Hassan Kamal said Takaful Malaysia wanted to share the festive joy with the children.
“I am very happy that they did because I get to shop with my friends. I bought a baju Melayu in my favourite colour purple,” said Alif Syazwan Rosle, 10.
Lipis Orphanage Education Association chairman Nata Yusof said the contribution was very meaningful to all of them.
“We are grateful for the contribution. No words can describe how we are feeling right now,” he added.
