JUBILANT Prestige Sdn Bhd is now the sole distributorship of Lampe Berger Paris products in Malaysia and aims to open 10 outlets by the end of this year.
Julie Lim, CEO of Jubilant Prestige, said the plan is to market Lampe Berger’s products in such a way that everyone has access to the products at an affordable price.
Lampe Berger is a maker of fragrance lamps, also known as a perfume or effusion lamps, and luxury fragrances.
“Our goal is to have Lampe Berger products in households, hotels, restaurants, offices and establishments,” she said.
“The company is taking necessary steps to rebrand the products and aims to ensure Malaysian consumers’ confidence towards Lampe Berger products,” she said.
Currently, Lampe Berger has a presence in several shopping complexes including Bangsar Shopping Centre, Pavilion, Sungei Wang Plaza as well as the main outlet located in the House of Tatiana at 81, Jalan Maarof, Bangsar.
Expansion plans: Lim hopes to have up to 10 outlets up and running by the end of the year. Malaysians can expect another Lampe Berger kiosk in Midvalley Megamall by Spetember this year.
According to Lim, the company is also seeking potential dealers to set up outlets in other shopping malls such as Sunway Pyramid, 1Utama as well Setia Alam City Mall.
“We are also looking for potential investor who are interested in becoming the brand’s state dealers for our expansion plans to other states such as Penang, Johor, as well as Sabah and Sarawak,” she said, adding that the total start-up capital for a new store is around RM150,000 to RM200,000 and an additional minimum requirement of RM40,000 in stock.
“We are emphasising creating more business opportunities and, so far, all the outlets have been faring well in the local market. It is definitely a good investment judging from the positive response to the outlets and the Lampe Berger brand that has a long history in the aromatic fragrance industry,” she said.
Lampe Berger has up to 44 different kinds of organic essential oils, which the company says has various properties and therapeutic benefits that improve one’s physical condition. It says essential oils such as the lavender can alleviate insomnia, while sandalwood enhances calmness and eucalyptus aids respiratory problems.
Lampe Berger says its adds its secret formulation, Ozoalcool, to its aromatic oils and uses a specially designed patented catalytic diffuser that controls constant combustion temperature at 60°C to catalyse aroma which carries ozone. It has the capability to eliminate bacteria, remove odours and produce oxygen.
According to Lim, Jubilant Prestige has brought in 18 top-selling essential oils at the moment and will definitely introduce more products every few months.
“We are also bringing in an electrical diffuser and car diffuser by the end of this month. The essential oils in both diffusers can be used for up to 150 hours,” she said.
“It is very user friendly and users just need to plug into an electric source or insert it into the car’s cigarette lighter to function. We are also selling the anti-tobacco and energy essential oils, which we think will be more popular with consumers,” she said.
The electrical diffusers range from RM200 to over RM400, while the car diffuser cost RM199. The essential oil refills cost between RM45 and RM49.
Lim said she hope to achieve a sales target of RM2mil as well as capturing 10% to 15% of the market for home fragrances by the end of this year.
She added that she is hoping to see an increase of 10% to 20% in sales for next year.
“We are currently looking at Penang, Johor as well as other states and we are targeting a total of 20 outlets in major shopping malls nationwide by the end of next year. I also hope to have a turnover of around RM4mil by the end of next year,” she said.
Due to its exclusivity, Lampe Berger bottles have become a collector’s item around the world as only 30 new pieces are being created each year.
With this, the company plans to set up the brand’s collectors club in Malaysia.
“I am very happy to be given this opportunity to be able to bring the patented range of products to Malaysian market and share with them the benefits of the products,” she said.
