Mid November date for badminton event
THE upcoming fourth Rawang badminton open tournament will be hosted at the ASB badminton hall in Rawang over two weekends in mid November. And the more serious contenders will be in action in the men’s doubles open of the two-day meet starting from Nov 17 followed by another three categories on Nov 24 and 25.
Besides the men’s doubles open for the knockout format tournament decided over in best of three games in the 21-point running score system for each game, they have also included two separate contests for the budding shuttlers to complement the men’s doubles novice section.
The two junior age-groups are boys’ Under-12 singles and boys’ Under-16 doubles.
Former national and state representatives, who have featured in national and international tournaments beyond the Under-16 age-group, are not allowed to sign up for the men’s doubles novice.
The hosts will only accommodate a total of 48 entries in each category for the tournament offering a total cash prizes of RM8,800.
