IN a bid to help the less fortunate, 38 bikers from Kota Bikerz in Penang took part in a charity bike convoy.
Accompanied by four traffic police outriders and a police car, the convoy in the ‘Charity Ride Amal’ started their journey from Green Lane.
They stopped at the Madrasah Kampung Kastam in Bukit Gelugor and Jalan Padang Tembak in Air Itam to make donations to the Maahad Tahfiz Islamic institutions at both places.
Kota Bikerz chief Taib Khan Mohd Yusoff said the charity convoy was the first of its kind for Kota Bikerz, and a total of RM12,000 was collected among them.
“We donated RM2,100 to the Maahad Tahfiz in Perkampungan Kastam and RM3,300 to the one in Air Itam, as these institutions do not have their own funds.

“Each family also received RM150,” he said before the flag-off of the charity convoy re- cently.
Taib Khan added that the event was also aimed at promoting corporate social responsibility among the bikers.
“We also love doing charity, and we hope to show people that we are more than just your ordinary bikers,” he said.
Jointly organised by the Employees Provident Fund, the event also saw the participation of 30 bikers from Kuala Lumpur, Parit Buntar and Kulim.
