ONE could be forgiven for thinking that Hari Raya Aidilfitri has arrived at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel & Spa.
With the help from staff members clad in traditional Malay costumes, children lit up fireworks from the pelita in the garden; their faces glowing with anticipation.
Sparkles!: The children having a great time playing fireworks after enjoying the buffet spread. They laughed and squealed excitedly as they chased after their friends under the night sky, while several clowns were on hand to make them interesting balloon sculptures.
It was the Ramadan charity dinner organised by the hotel for three charitable homes, namely Rumah Nur Hikmah, Rumah Charis and Rumah Keluarga Kami.
Time for money packets: Yong (right) presenting ‘duit raya’ to the children. Putrajaya Marriott general manager Simon Yong said the event provided an opportunity for children of different races and religions to celebrate the festival together.
The 125 children enjoyed the hotel’s buka puasa feast themed Ratusan Resipi Ramadan, which was inclusive of a spread of tropical fruits such as durian, rambutan and pulasan.
They were also presented with duit raya and goodie bags.
Yong added that visits to homes for old folks and the handicapped were also in the pipeline to spread festive cheer in conjunction with Ramadan.
