TWENTY-ONE beauties from five countries will be vying for the Miss Chinese Cosmos Southeast Asia 2012 crown during the grand final of the beauty pageant tomorrow.
The pageant, held for the sixth time in Malaysia, will be held at the Royal Ballroom, Palace of the Golden Horses. It is organised by White Fairy Sdn Bhd.
Company director and winner of Miss Cosmos Chinese International 2004 Carrie Lee Sze Kei said she wanted to create an opportunity for the contestants to experience the process of being in a beauty pageant.

“I bought over the franchise from Phoenix satellite Television Hong Kong and started the company just to organise the beauty pageant,” she said.
Contestants from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines had to go through a series of activities before reaching the final.
At a press conference recently, Lee said the finalists would be “thrown some curve balls” by the judges to test their personality.
“We will focus more on the question-and-answer session because this will definitely give us a hint about their personality.”
The winner of the pageant will walk away with HKD200,000 (RM82,000) cash, scholarship and prizes including sponsor’s products and vouchers.
There are also nine subsidiary titles for the finalists, each worth RM1,000 cash with a RM450 trophy and sash.
This year, the public can vote for the Miss Popularity title and the finalist with the most votes will win the title.
Meanwhile, members of the audience who vote for the winner of the beauty pageant will stand a chance to win a holiday trip package or ticket to tomorrow’s grand final.
This year’s pageant winner will represent South-East Asia in the international grand final, which will take place in Kow Loon Bay Commercial Centre, Hong Kong on Oct 27.
