IT was hard not to feel excited that Raya is fast approaching with the sight and smell of bubur lambuk boiling in 100 pots.
There was an air of festivity among shoppers as they waited in long queues to collect free bubur lambuk after a mass cook out by staff of the Ipoh City Council, Nestle Products Sdn Bhd and Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd last Saturday.

Some 25,000 packets of the porridge were given out during the event, which was held in conjunction with Nestle’s 100th anniversary in Malaysia, and also distributed to local orphanages, mosques, surau, fire stations and police stations in the area.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, who was also present, lauded the efforts of the council, volunteers and the companies.
