Dream trip reward for four Shell Advance contest winners
FOR four lucky Shell Advance customers, their decisions to enter the Shell Advance “Key to Freedom” SMS-based contest have paid off handsomely.
Come November, the four – Ryan Lau from Sarawak, Lim Lay Cheng from Penang and Johoreans Ong Kim San and Ong Wan Eng — will be in Valencia, Spain, to watch the Spanish MotoGP.
During the all-expense paid trip, they will also have the opportunity to win a Ducati Monster superbike worth RM60,000.
The four were declared grand prize winners of the Shell Advance “Key to Freedom” SMS-based contest held from June 1 till Aug 31.
Rocking the house: Grunge rocker LoQue and his band MonoloQue performing at the Shell Advance 2012 Battle of the Bands. The contest was open to customers who purchase a 1-litre pack of Shell Advance Ultra 4T, AX7 4T, AX5 4T, VSX 2T or SX 2T motorcycle oil.
They received their prizes from Shell Lubricants brand and communications manager, Yu Li Ching, at a simple ceremony at the Shell Advance “Battle of the Bands” finale at Hard Rock Café, Kuala Lumpur recently.
The Shell Advance “Battle of the Bands” contest was the second consumer activity that ran concurrently with the Shell Advance “Key to Freedom” contest.
Ten up-and-coming local bands that garnered the highest number of online votes were among the 20 selected by Shell Malaysia featured on www.youtube.com/user/2012advancebob battled it out on stage at Hard Rock Café.
The Jespers, a six-man band from Kuala Lumpur rocked the crowd to take home the grand prize of RM8,000 while the second and third prize of RM4,000 and RM2,000 went to The Black & Blues from Kuala Lumpur and Maya Opera from Johor respectively.
According to Yu, the Shell Advance “Key to Freedom” contest, which received some 9,000 entries, was aimed at rewarding loyal Shell Advance customers.
“Many of them are wage earners who depend on their bikes for mobility and to earn a living.
The all-expense paid trip to Spain to watch their favourite MotoGP stars is a holiday they would only dream about. “Hopefully, one of them will even bring back the Ducati Monster superbike!” she said.
Yu also explained that this was the second consecutive year that the company had organised the Shell Advance “Battle of the Bands” contest following the tremendous response to the inaugural competition last year.
“It is a fantastic platform for young local bands to showcase their talent.
The theme this year is “Hear the Sound, Feel the Freedom” which is in line with the Shell Advance promise of endowing your motorcycle with responsiveness that you can hear,” she added.
Developed based on a deep understanding of bikers and their day-to-day needs, the Shell Advance 4T range features RCE Technology designed to deliver reliable oil performance by helping remove deposits and protecting the engine; enhances control by helping to optimise gear changes, smooth clutch engagement and prevent slippage; giving a more Enjoyable ride by reducing vibration and engine noise.
It is available in four clearly tiered and easily differentiated products designed for specific types of motorcycles and performance requirements.
