Duo win great prizes after signing up for broadband services
WHEN Siti Hajar Mohd Nor and Chin Shwu Ching signed up for a U Mobile broadband and postpaid bundle plan respectively, little did they know that their answers to simple questions on Euro 2012 and the 2012 London Olympics would win them a LED television and other prizes from telco company U Mobile.
Siti Hajar and Chin were surprised but exhilarated after being declared grand prize winners of U Mobile’s Knockout Frenzy contest during the prize presentation ceremony held at U Mobile’s flagship store at Berjaya Times Square recently. They each won a brand new 55” Samsung Smart LED TV, a new Huawei MediaPad and U Mobile broadband Internet access for three months’ worth almost RM17,000 in total.
“I really did not expect to win. After getting the fastest and most affordable broadband plan in town for myself, I was just happy with the service. Now in addition to that, I was really pleasantly surprised that I was the lucky winner of the grand prize for this contest. My family members were ecstatic when I told them I won,” said Siti Hajar, who hails from Alam Damai, Kuala Lumpur.
Lucky lot: Jaffa (in suit) with the winners of U Mobile Knockout Frenzy Challenge Contest. Equally surprised when receiving the news, Chin said the win was the best news she had received this year.
“When I got the call from U Mobile, I initially thought it was a hoax until the caller verified the details and referred me to the website for confirmation. I am really happy to win this brand new TV and it is going to be the centerpiece in my home from today onwards. Thank you U Mobile,” said the 26-year old lass from Sri Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.
U Mobile’s Knockout Frenzy Contest was held from June 18 to Aug 18, giving new subscribers of U Mobile’s selected plans a chance to win lucrative prizes and, as a special offer, get 50% more data on top of their allocated quota in the following month.
Current and non-U Mobile subscribers were also given the opportunity to be part of U Mobile’s rewards initiative by participating in the U Mobile Knockout Challenge game that was available on U Mobile’s Facebook page, for a chance to win a new Huawei Honor smartphone worth RM1,000 and U Mobile broadband Internet access for three months’ worth RM400. A total of eight participants walked home with the first prize mentioned above and the 120 consolation prize winners walked home with a MiFi modem and U Mobile broadband Internet access for three months.
U Mobile Sdn Bhd CEO Jaffa Sany Ariffin said, “Apart from offering the fastest 3G mobile Internet in town with speeds up to 42Mbps, we also place great emphasis on customer satisfaction through our affordable product rates and exciting value-added experiences. This rewarding initiative is one of our many avenues to express our deepest appreciation to our customers who have opted for U Mobile.”
“This initiative is also in parallel to our resolution to be more customer-focused and we commit to continue enriching our range of products and services to cater to our customers’ needs,” he added.
Three first prize winners of U Mobile’s Knockout Frenzy Contest were also celebrated during the prize presentation ceremony where they each received a new Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone, a Huawei MediaPad or Honor smartphone and U Mobile broadband Internet access for three months with a total value of RM3,600.
Prizes were also given to 132 bi-weekly winners for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and consolation prizes with a total worth of RM105,000.
