Celebrities join the media and bloggers in Mother’s Day cooking competition
The winning dish ‘udang masak lemak’ made by Nani (third from left) and Awal (front, right) and their team members. Maggi celebrates Mother’s Day in a unique way, when they invited celebrities Awal Ashaari, Belinda Chee, Peter Davis and Sazzy Falak to “Pot of Love” held in Petaling Jaya.
It was an eventful occasion as the celebrities teamed up to whip up popular dishes. They then teamed up with members of the media and two bloggers in another challenge to cook a dish.
The judge for the cooking challenge was chef Muluk. The two bloggers were Nani Rostam and Poh Huai Bin.
Nestle Malaysia head of food business Rosalyn Simba said in recognising that mothers were the backbone of the family, the company decided that there was no better way to show gratitude to a mother than by cooking her a delicious meal.
The cooking challenge involved four groups, each with a celebrity, with the aim of using Maggi’s array of stock cubes to come up with unique dishes. The winner received Maggi goodies.
Contestants were graded based on five criteria — hygiene, presentation, creativity, preparation and taste.
The team comprising Awal and Nani emerged winners for their traditional Malay dish udang masak lemak.
Nestle Malaysia (brand manager) food business Choo Siew Ling said Maggi aimed to make cooking simpler for all mothers.
‘With our stock cubes made from fresh ingredients, they can now save time when cooking,” said Choo.
