The 53-year-old, who is also Hulu Selangor Umno secretary, will set up his service centre in the JP building in Batang Kali by next month after he is sworn in.
Mat Nadzari, who stays in Kampung Batu 30, Ulu Yam Lama, also aims to meet the people in his constituency every Thursday, from 9am to 5pm, at his service centre.
“The building is under renovation and it should be ready by next month.
“However, there are people already coming to see me for help, but I need to be sworn in by Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah first.
“As a local, I know the people’s problems in Batang Kali and its surrounding areas. So far, I have visited the Batang Kali market, several schools and the Bukit Sentosa and Bukit Beruntung shoplots to thank the people for their support.
“Solving flood woes, especially in Batang Kali and Ulu Yam, is my main priority as the drains are clogged with mud and silt and are prone to flash floods when there is a downpour.
“At the Batang Kali wet market, there are no proper garbage bins and the market needs to be upgraded,” he said.
“The people, especially those in the Chinese new villages, have also asked for a basketball court in the area.
“They claim that there are many futsal courts but not enough basketball courts here.
“I will also look into upgrading bus stations in Batang Kali and Bukit Sentosa,” Mat Nadzari said.
