4P concept to make police more efficient
Kuala Lumpur: Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Ismail Omar has launched the 4P concept which he believed will enable the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to serve the public more efficiently.
The 4P concept stood for protect, performance, proactive and people-oriented.
Ismail explained that the first “P” represents the role of the police force as protectors of public order and internal security.
The second “P” which is for performance, Ismail said, are the various key performance indicators (KPIs) that have been clearly laid out in the NKRA on crime reduction.
The third “P”, being proactive, meant innovation in strategies which would allow better anticipation of new threats, tactics and action.
The last “P”, which is being people oriented, means PDRM exists to serve every Malaysian regardless of race or creed.
Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, who lauded the concept, said it is a significant step toward building a force that would be the pride of the nation.
