Gerakan may quit Barisan

Gerakan is reviewing its role in Barisan Nasional, and if it believes it can no longer play a meaningful role within in the ruling coalition, will quit, said the party's acting president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon. Gerakan's grassroots and former leaders have been suing for a more multiracial approach to governance, an issue that came to prominence after an Umno leader allegedly made racist remarks.
