'Durian bouquet' becomes Internet sensation

A graduate became an Internet sensation after he was presented with a "bouquet" of durians instead of flowers at his convocation in Petaling Jaya. Netizens have called Mohd Ludwig the "durian boy" after pictures of him holding the king of fruits went viral. The instant fame took the Taylor's University graduate by surprise. "The nicely-wrapped 'Red Prawn' durian is a gift from my three friends. We all love the durian so much that we can eat the fruit all day. That's why they gave me durian during my convocation. Besides, getting a bouquet is rather expensive. It is more 'practical' to have durian as I can eat it later," he said during the convocation in April this year. Mohd Ludwig said he felt uneasy while holding the durian at first. Many people also stopped to have pictures taken with him and the durian "bouquet". Ludwig said he shared the durian with his family, adding "we finished them within seconds, it was really delicious".
