IPOH: Perak PKR information head Siti Aishah Shaik Ismail (pic) said a representative from the party should be appointed as the special advisor to the mentri besar.

Siti Aishah said this was to ensure that there was equality among all parties in Pakatan Harapan in the state government.

The PKR Srikandi chief said there were only two representatives from the party in the state exco line-up.

"There is nothing wrong if a representative from PKR gets the post.

"If I am not chosen, I will not hold any grudges," she said at a Hari Raya do at her family home here on Sunday (July 15).

Recently, Siti Aishah was in the spotlight, as she was one of the two nominees for the state assembly speaker post.

However, DAP's Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham was elected as the speaker, and there was talk that Siti Aishah was pressured to withdraw from the race.

She has voiced out her frustration on social media. In her initial Facebook post, she had voiced out her disappointment at having to withdraw her name because DAP wanted the position.

However that post was deleted with another version confirming that she had gone to the state Secretariat Building to sign the withdrawal letter.

Siti Aishah in her second post said she initially took up the offer on the understanding that space should be provided to PKR, as there were already five assemblymen from DAP, who were state executive council members.

As for other parties, Parti Amanah Negara has three seats on the state exco while Ahmad Faizal Azumu, who is the sole assemblyman from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia in Perak, is the state's Mentri Besar.

During the May 9 general election, DAP won 18 seats, followed by Amanah with six, PKR four and Pribumi one.

At a press conference later, Ahmad Faizal said he had spoken to Siti Aishah, and she accepted it.

He said Siti Aishah had a bright future in politics, and he would make sure that she would be provided a role in the state government according to her abilities.
