Medical students’ plight taken to Putrajaya
PUTRAJAYA: Parents of affected Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) students have taken their plight to Putrajaya.
A group of 15 parents and students submitted memorandums to the Health and Higher Education Ministers and the Prime Minister's Office yesterday on the future of 68 students set to be transferred to other institutions after CUCMS exceeded its 150 student quota set by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
“We are going straight to the top to give the ministers the full picture of what's going on.
“We hope there will be a full investigation,” said Datuk Paduka Mohd Yusof Musa, whose 20-year-old son is in the affected group.
The memorandums were received by Lim Eng Leong, the principal private secretary to Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and Dr Heazar Ismail, who is the special officer to Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
The parents said a closed-door session with CUCMS and parents last Friday did little to resolve matters.
