Life changes dramatically for young acid attack victim
LIKE any other youngster, Mohd Fazil Hanafi Idrus loves football and being outdoors. But after an acid attack, doctors have told him not to go out in the sun, Kosmo!Ahad reported.
The 18-year-old boy was splashed with acid while he was sleeping with some friends after watching a live football telecast at a house in Kampung Padang Merchang in Marang, Terengganu, on Feb 19.
The acid burnt parts of his face, arms, legs and body.
Mohd Fazil said his wounds resulted in his body becoming sensitive to sunlight, adding that he had to wear padded clothing and a mask to protect himself.
He was warded for three weeks at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in Kuala Terengganu after the incident.
Fisherman Shahurzaman Salim, 38, who was with Mohd Fazil, suffered injuries to the eyes and face from the acid attack. Four others who were in the house were not harmed.
The police detained three suspects for questioning but they were released when the remand expired.
> A worker on duty at the traffic control room of the Batu toll plaza along the DUKE highway was shocked to see on CCTV a naked woman wandering aimlessly in the area.
He was further stunned when he rushed out of the room to see the person he thought was a woman was actually a man, Metro Ahad reported.
Anuar Borohan, 40, said he had received calls from road users that a “naked woman” was walking along KM3 of the highway in the direction of Sentul, from Jalan Duta, at about 1.45pm on Saturday.
The transvestite was later handed over to the police.
