Animal Welfare Bill draft gets massive public support

PUTRAJAYA: The draft of the Animal Welfare Bill 2012 has received overwhelming support from the general public, according to a survey conducted by the Veterinary Services Department.
Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Datuk Chua Tee Yong said of the 2,421 online comments received on the draft, some 90.9% expressed support for the Bill.
"After this feedback is tabulated, we will put up the revised (if any) Bill online next month for another round of public feedback," Chua said in a press conference here Thursday.
