Burglars cart off 100kg safe with RM130,000
KUALA LUMPUR: A group of men broke into the Coliseum Cinema office in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and carted away a 100kg safe containing RM130,000.
Coliseum Cinema assistant manager W. Navin Raj told reporters that the robbery was believed to have been committed by a group of men who struck between 3.30am and 5am yesterday morning by using cutters and crowbars to break into the office via the lobby of the cinema.
He said there was only one security guard on duty inside the cinema at the time.
Navin Raj said that according to the guard about 10 or 15 men armed with iron rods arrived in two cars and a van and told the guard to open the gate.
The guard however refused to do so as he was alone and called the police, he said.
A police spokesman said two cutters and two crowbars were found at the scene. Bernama
