Lee back to promote movie
KUALA LUMPUR: Award-winning Malaysian actress Lee Sin Jie was back in town on Thursday to attend the Malaysian premiere of her movie Koma, together with co-star, Hong Kong actress Karena Lam.
“It is good to be back in Malaysia after being away for so long,” said Alor Star-born Lee, during a press conference at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel here.
Lee, 27, is a rising star in Hong Kong and Taiwan. In Koma, she plays a girl who is stalked by a killer who steals his victims' kidneys to sell on the black market, while Lam plays a suspect in the case who befriends Lee's character.
Lee, who won the best actress award at the Hong Kong Film Festival in 2003 for the horror movie The Eye, hopes she will not be stereotyped and offered more roles in horror films, despite returning to the genre with Koma.
“Even though I get a lot of offers to do this kind of film all the time, I want to try to play as many characters as possible,” she said.
After the press conference, Lee and Lam headed to Mid Valley Megamall for a meet-the-fans session before attending the premiere there.
