Firm to top up SMS donations for survivors
PETALING JAYA: Airtime Media Productions (AMP) said it would top up SMS donations for its Tsunami 26/12 Fund to make up for the telecommunication charges deducted from each RM1 donation.
The company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Astro All Asia Networks, told Star In.Tech on Friday that the donations were subject to deduction arising from charges levied by cellular services providers.
However, AMP said in a statement issued yesterday that the company would make up the difference.
“Every sen from each ringgit donated will go to the fund,” the statement said.
The donation drive was carried out by the seven radio stations operated by AMP. The fund racked up RM523,452 at the close of the drive on Friday.
