Cops to get tough on mobile phones with lewd images
ACTION will be taken against mobile phone users who have pornographic films and images in their cellular phones, reported China Press.
According to the daily, pornographic movies or lewd screen images can now be easily downloaded at phone shops in the city for between RM20 and RM80.
The daily quoted City CID chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Aziz Bulat as saying that they will conduct surprise checks on mobile phone users to curb the problem, which is now widespread.
He said police were monitoring several shops that provided such services.
Nanyang Siang Pau reported that a tourist guide lost his bag containing the passports and air tickets of 15 Chinese tourists to snatch thieves in Johor Baru on Sunday.
The incident happened when the tour guide, only known as Lee, was carrying the tourists luggage to a bus before heading to the Singapore airport.
A man suddenly snatched the bag before fleeing on a motorcycle with an accomplice.
