Abdul Aziz Mohd Ali, 57, a silat master and businessman, claimed that Nasha had implied in an article published in Mingguan Malaysia on Oct 24, 2004, that her biological father had died.
Abdul Aziz said the article titled Jangan Tanya Hal Peribadi (Don’t ask personal question) mentioned a person named Abdul Aziz Hathim as Nasha’s biological father and that he had passed away sometime in May last year.
Abdul Aziz also named Utusan Melayu (M) Bhd as owner of Mingguan Malaysia and its reporter Tengku Khalidah Tengku Bidin in his suit filed in the High Court on March 31.
In his statement of claim, Abdul Aziz said his reputation had been tarnished and that he suffered stress and embarrassment because of the article.
He sent a notice dated March 3 through his counsel to all three defendants seeking an apology to be published in Mingguan Malaysia, but the defendants had failed to comply with his request.
Abdul Aziz’s counsel M. Visvanathan said the suit would be served on Nasha and the other two defendants sometime this week.
When contacted, Nasha, 33, did not wish to comment on the matter as she had yet to receive any document.
Nasha, whose real name is Noraishah Abdul Aziz, acted in several movies, including Gerak Khas and Kad Cinta.
