Mat Taib made senator
KUALA LUMPUR: Umno information chief Tan Sri Muhammad Muhammad Taib, who was appointed as a senator, has pledged to do his best in his new role.
He thanked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for the appointment and said he would use his experience to serve the people and country.
It is an important position with a lot of responsibilities.

He said he would focus on human capital development.
Muhammad, 61, was elected as an Umno supreme council member in 1986. In 1993, he became a vice president, a post he held until 2004 when he was made Umno information chief.
