Resign, Zakaria urged
SHAH ALAM: The Selangor State Assembly Backbenchers Club wants Port Klang Assemblyman Datuk Zakaria Md Deros to heed the state governments call for him to resign from the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) by Nov 8.
Its secretary Abdul Rahman Bakri said yesterday that it was better for Zakaria, who was also the clubs vice chairman, to withdraw from the council before the situation worsened.
At a meeting here on Tuesday, 17 committee members of the club supported the state governments decision on Zakaria.
Zakaria was invited to attend the meeting but did not turn up.
Abdul Rahman said the clubs decision could not be relayed to Zakaria because he could not be contacted. Bernama
