Couple married in the after life
THEY did not know each other when they were alive but that did not stop them from getting married in the after life.
China Press and Nanyang Siang Pau reported that the marriage of the dead took place in Pontian, Johor, on Tuesday.
It was over 20 years ago that Zhong Jie Neng, a chemical engineer, died of colon cancer at the age of 29 and Lin Xiu Lan of heart problems at the age of 18.
The two did not know each other when they were alive but they were buried at the same cemetery.
Their families came to know of the couples intention to get married when they had dreams about it.
Both families agreed to the marriage and went to great lengths for the ceremony.
Zhongs family sent dowries, gold rings and wedding biscuits to Lins family. The families also burnt a paper house and boxes of paper clothes for the newlyweds.
Road Transport Department director-general Datuk Emran Kadir told Sin Chew Daily that the cost to sit for the written road test using computers had increased with immediate effect from RM17 to RM27.
