Mat Rempit rain stones on cops
SUBANG JAYA: Some 200 Mat Rempit pelted stones at a group of policemen when they tried to break up a street-side gathering at a housing estate near here yesterday.
Twenty policemen rushed to the location at about 2am after two of their colleagues were stoned by the street racers.

Twelve motorcycles were also seized during the commotion at Puchong Permai.
Five Mat Rempit suffered light injuries after falling off from their machines. There were no other casualties.
None of the policemen was hurt but a patrol car was slightly damaged when it was grazed by one of the illegal racers.

SOLID EVIDENCE: One of the confiscated motorcycles still had unused stones in the storage basket. |
On seeing a police car approaching, the youngsters started to rain stones from a distance. None of them hit the car.
The policemen quickly retreated and returned to the station for reinforcements.
A team of policemen, led by Chief Insp Norhisham Razali, returned to the spot about half an hour later and warned the youths to disperse.
The Mat Rempit picked up more stones and hurled them at the policemen and attempted a scare tactic by trying to graze their cars.
Subang Jaya district police chief Asst Comm Muhammad Fuad Talib said the bikers roared away as the policemen gave chase.
Some defiant ones tried to fight back but were arrested.
“My men were not injured but one of the patrol cars was damaged when the Mat Rempit grazed the car with a motorbike,” said ACP Muhammad Fuad.
He said one of the 12 machines seized was believed to be stolen property.
On Oct 15, a group of about 20 Mat Rempit stoned the Kubang Semang police station near Bukit Mertajam in Penang, after two of their friends were arrested for illegal racing along the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway.
The gang members trailed and threw stones at the policemen as they were transporting the duo to the station.
The suspects were arrested when they rammed into two policemen as they were trying to flee.
