The performers at the festival will collaborate with the Subang Jaya police to curb drug abuse among teenagers by educating them on the dangers of drugs throughout the festival.
The effort is an educational approach in preventing drug abuse among the young partygoers and the cause will be supported by international performing deejays Judge Jules, Kyau and Albert as well as Ron van Bueken.
“This approach, hopefully, will appeal intellectually to the youths of today, whom I trust will be more open to reasoning. With proper education, I hope that the youth will come to the realisation that drug abuse is self-abuse,” said Subang Jaya police chief Muhammad Fuad Talin.
“With the police force working hand in hand at events like these, not only does it disseminate the right message but will also serve to correct the misconception that raids are undertaken to stop youths from seeking entertainment.
On the contrary, raids are conducted to control drug abuse, not to prevent people from having fun and enjoying music,” he said.

“We envision that the festival will be instrumental in promoting our country as a venue for safe and responsible entertainment leading up to Visit Malaysia Year 2007,” said Events Knights communications manager Rubin Singh.
Among the local artistes who will be performing include DJ T-Bone, DJ Goldfish, Jakeman, DJ Biggie, Joe Flizzow and Dayang Nurfaizah.
There will be two rooms at the event with Room 1 catering to dance music lovers while Room 2 will dish out sounds of R&B and Hip Hop.
Other than music, there will also be cars on display.
As an avenue for youth education, the organiser has set up a website, www.velocitykl.com detailing the do’s and don’ts for the event guests, advocating proper attitudes for good, clean fun.
Tickets priced at RM45 each are available at outlets listed on the website, while door-sales is at RM60.
