More worries, say many
PETALING JAYA: Motorists rushed to the petrol stations to fill up their tanks when the news about the fuel price increase became known at about 10.30pm.
Most of them were taken aback by the 30 sen increase and found little consolation in this being the only price rise this year.
Engineer consultant Simon Chong said it would be a huge burden to all consumers.
“Now I need to pay RM2.15 for every litre of V-Power fuel,” he said, adding that he was alerted by his friends about the increase yesterday.
Electronics manager Roslan Rajah, 43, said the greater pain would come later when the prices of other products go up as a consequence.
M. Balakirisnan, 39, said the fuel increase was bad news not only for owners of vehicles but also everyone, as inflation would set in.
“I hope the Government gives serious thought to improving public transport and keeping the fares as low as possible as many of us cannot afford to use our vehicles now that fuel is so expensive,” he added.
