MOHANA GILL, fondly known to family and friends as the Travelling Gourmet, has just published her first coffee table book called Fruitastic! The book is inspired by her lifelong passion for preparing wonderful cuisine no matter what the ingredients or methods.
Mohana's project is based on her belief that fruits are nature's true gift to humanity. To her, fruits not only have therapeutic value, but they are also delicious natural anti-aging tools that play an important part in our daily diet.
Living in a household of four men who constantly demand good food, Mohana's creative skills have been well honed. Fruitastic! was also inspired by her husband, Satwant Singh's, involvement in the anti-aging products industry. With that, Mohana became interested in developing natural recipes that are delicious and healthy.

Fruitastic! is a timely abstract of wonderful recipes that will enchant and delight fruit-eaters and fruitarians. The book consists of recipes of beverages, sorbets, soups, salsas, main courses, jams and desserts using fruits.
One of the taglines that she adopted for her coffee table book is 'Nature and not the Doctor that heals', made popular by philosopher Hipprocrates.
Mohana currently has more than 14 varieties of fruit trees flourishing in her garden at home.
At the launch of her book, Mohana spoke passionately about cooking and providing the best food for her friends and family. Guests at the launch were treated to food and beverages featured in the book such as mixed fruit smoothies and juices.
Mohana is scheduled for author's appearances at MPH Mid Valley on April 9 and at MPH I Utama at April 23. Her book Fruitastic! retails at RM 120.
