Towards better health facilities
M ALAYSIANS can look forward to better health facilities with the implementation of the 9MP, which runs from 2006 until 2010.
The Government promises to continue providing facilities and implementing programmes to improve the health of the local population.

Under MP9, efforts will be taken to promote lifelong wellness by maintaining healthy lifestyles, reducing the disease burden and utilising resources available for the optimum benefit of the population. |
The Government has decided to upgrade public health services. One of the efforts include the setting up of a Communicable Disease Centre in Sungai Buloh, Selangor to deal with outbreaks of newly emerging diseases.
A National Strategic Plan (NSP) for HIV/AIDS will also be implemented to reduce the number of HIV transmission cases in the country.
Keeping the specific target groups such as adolescents and older persons in mind, the Government will also provide mental health services for them to ensure their integration into society.
