Umno Youth protest against Israeli action
KUALA LUMPUR: More than 2,000 Umno Youth members marched to the American, French and Chinese embassies and the British High Commission yesterday to protest against Israeli military action against Palestine and Lebanon.
Umno Youth deputy chief Khairy Jamaluddin led the group that began their protest march from the KLCC Mosque after Friday prayers at about 2.30pm.
Their first stop was the American Embassy in Jalan Tun Razak where Khairy failed in his attempt to hand over a protest memorandum.

However, Khairy managed to hand over a memorandum to an official at the French Embassy, who invited him into the building for a short discussion.
Hundreds of police and Federal Reserve Unit personnel were deployed to control the group, which carried banners and shouted anti-Israeli slogans.
Khairy said Umno youth would tour Asean countries to garner support to pressure the UN to take immediate action against Israel.
He also said that Umno Youth's counterpart, the Indonesian National Youth Community, would also stage a protest in Jakarta next Tuesday.
The group disbanded at 4pm without any untoward incident.
