PUTRAJAYA: After undergoing six drafts, the revised version of the controversial Ethnic Relations Module for public universities was finally approved by the Cabinet yesterday. The Higher Education Ministry has come up with a more balanced guidebook that includes the following changes:

> Removal of any reference to the Suqiu appeals and the Kampung Medan incident

> More information on the contributions of Chinese and Indian leaders in the fight for Independence

> Removal of historical errors on Sabah and Sarawak

> Presentation of the May 13, 1969, racial riots without any reference to the role of political parties
