Faeza ready to face critics

By SITI AZIRA ABD AZIZ

PETALING JAYA: Model-turned-actress Noorfaezah Md Elai, or better known as Faeza, may be the latest face in the film industry but she is all game for the critics.

“I may be new but I am ready to be criticised. My new film Otai has received mixed response,” said Faeza, who plays Mawar alongside big names like Nasha Aziz and Saiful Apek.

Busy time: Faeza will soon be playing the lead in a 26-episode drama.
Despite the sudden fame, Faeza, a former MAS air stewardess, still could not believe she was chosen during the audition.

“There were 30 who came for the audition. I was so surprised when film director Assoc Prof A. Razak Mohaideen said I was the one he was looking for.

“Of course I was quite nervous since I had no acting experience apart from appearing on TV commercials.

“And to act alongside Nasha and Saiful only makes it more stressful.

“I was also worried about what other people would say about my acting,” said Faeza, who has appeared in more than 10 TV commercials.

However, inspiring words from Assoc Prof Razak were enough to put her at ease, she said.

“It’s good enough to hear that Prof Razak is satisfied with my acting. I remember him telling me that for a first-timer I was really good,” she added.

Faeza, a UiTM fashion graduate who is of Thai and Punjabi heritage, will soon be acting in a 26-episode drama called Cinta dan Keadilan, playing the lead with another new actress, Julia Ziegler.

“It’s about two law students, Sara and Zafira, and the challenges in handling cases. It also has a love story weaved into it,” she said.
