By Lee Yuk Peng
MALACCA: A former engineer with the state health department claimed trial to two charges of falsifying travelling claims amounting to RM941.10 in two Sessions Courts on Wednesday.
Salmah Sulaiman, 40, an engineer, who had been transferred to Putrajaya this year, pleaded not guilty to both charges under Section 11 (c) of Anti-Corruption Agency Act.
Salmah was alleged to have committed the offence - falsifying travel claims which did not take place in October 2005 - at the state health department here at Jalan Hang Tuah for RM258.
Sessions Judge Ahmad Kamar Jamaludin fixed bail at RM3,000 and set mention of the case for March 6.
Salmah, from Selangor, was alleged to have committed a similar offence at the same office between Oct 7, 2005 and Oct 28, 2005 for travelling claims of RM683.10.
Sessions Judge Sabariah Othman fixed bail at RM5,000 and set mention date for July 4.
If convicted, she would face an imprisonment of between 14 days and 20 years and a fine not less than five times the sum or RM20,000, whichever is higher.
