Think about your future and don’t be influenced by emotions, Najib tells voters

MALACCA: Voters must not use a by-election to voice their frustration by staying away or choosing the opposition, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
“A by-election like this is not the time to show that we are upset over certain small matters.
“We must use our heads to think about our future and not be influenced by our feelings and emotions,” he said when launching the Felda Tun Ghafar Menggong Medan Selera yesterday.

Najib said he was confident of a good turnout during polling in the Machap by-election tomorrow.
“After meeting with voters here, I am more confident that Barisan will win in Machap and we will continue to work hard to get a bigger win than the general election,” he said.
At the launch of the Datuk Wira Poh Ah Tiam Recreational Park in Machap Baru later, Najib said history revealed a strong bond that existed among the races in Machap since 1902 when the Chinese helped to build a mosque here.
Meanwhile, the MCA is urging outstation voters to return to cast their votes tomorrow.
Party president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting said party leaders and members had focused on persuading these voters to exercise their right.
Ong said accusations by the opposition that polling day was deliberately set on a working day to their disadvantage were baseless.
“This will affect to our supporters as well. It is a decision made by the Election Commission and has nothing to do with Barisan Nasional,” he said.
Ong also asked the Selangor MCA to start preparations ahead of the Ijok by-election even though the constituency was not Chinese majority.
“The MCA will go all out to campaign for the Barisan Nasional candidate in Ijok,” he said.
