Painter charged with rape
MIRI: A 60-year-old man has been charged in a Sessions Court here with three counts of raping the 13-year-old daughter of his live-in girlfriend.
The painter allegedly raped the girl in his house in the outskirts of the city on three different occasions in September, November and on Dec 17 last year.
Each of the charges under Section 376 of the Penal Code carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and at least six strokes of the rotan.
The accused claimed trial to all charges.
Judge Azahari Kamal Ramli fixed Aug 21 for hearing.
The court set the bail at RM10,000 in two sureties for each charge.
