Nothing to do with probe
THE retirement of Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) director-general Datuk Seri Zulkipli Mat Noor has nothing to do with the ongoing investigations against him.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz said the Government decided not to renew Zulkipli’s contract which ended in March.
“His contract was already extended once. He should not be presumed guilty just because his contract was not renewed,” he told Senator Lee Sing Chooi.
Zulkipli is under investigation after former Sabah ACA director Mohamed Ramli Manan told a website that he was involved in “immoral and criminal activities”.
Tolls finance development
TOLL collection helps to finance infrastructure development programmes, said Works Ministry parliamentary secretary Datuk Yong Khoon Seng.He said the highway concessionaires had to finance their own maintenance and operating costs, and service loans, including interest.
“The Government will ensure that toll rates remain reasonable.
“At the same time, the revenue received by the Government from the concessionaires helps to create more infrastructure projects which had benefited the people,” he told Senator Datuk Roslan Awang Chik.
