Give Jala the boot, says Senators Club

SUNGAI PETANI: The Senators’ Club has called for the sacking of Malaysia Airlines managing director Datuk Idris Jala to prevent further “sliding of services” by the national carrier.

Club member Senator Tajulurus Mohd Zain said the government-linked MAS was fast losing its credibility and its services was regressing from “bad to worse.”

“There have been times when flights were cancelled without notification. Sometimes the flights were even postponed.

“Idris should leave,” he told reporters at the Merbok division delegates’ meeting.

“I personally feel MAS is bogged down by an internal problem. This is very serious. It should stop giving technical excuses as this will frighten the people from taking MAS flights,” he said.

Information Minister Datuk Seri Zainuddin Maidin, who is Merbok Information bureau chief, said he was a “victim of bad service” when he and 138 others were delayed during a MAS flight from Kuala Terengganu to Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

“What MAS needs is a very good communicator or public relations personnel to keep passengers informed on delays and cancellation,” he said.
