Concert promises fun for all

Suria FM Green Everyday Concert 2007

KUALA LUMPUR: Radio station SuriaFM is promising lots of fun and excitement at the SuriaFM Green Everyday Concert 2007.

Its chief operating officer Engku Emran Engku Zainal Abidin said Saturday's concert would serve as a platform for all in the family to interact with artistes and share meaningful experiences.

“This is an annual project and not a one-off thing. We hope to organise an even bigger event like this next year,” he said, adding that the concert was for a charitable cause.

Engku Emran said the radio station was inspired by charitable events around the world, and wanted to make an impact locally.

He said the concert was also to promote and improve awareness among the people about energy conservation and climate change.

The concert will also pay tribute to the late Loganathan Arumugam, a founding member of the Alleycats, who died of lung cancer recently.

About 2,000 limited edition T-shirts imprinted with the face of the entertainer will go on sale, priced at RM26 each.

More than 50 artistes will perform at the concert. They include Bandi, Faizal, Fazli Zainal, Sassy The Don, Shazzy, Syed Azmir, Zainal Abidin, Atillia, Cheryl Samad, Dayang Nurfaizah, Dia Fadilla, Dina, Elyana, Erra Fazira, Farah Ashikin, Fairuz Hussein, Fauziah Ahmad Daud, Jaclyn Victor, Karen Kong, Khatijah Ibrahim, Maya Karin, Noryn Aziz, Norish Karman, Nurfatimah, and Sharifah Zarina.

The Alleycats will also be there.

Singaporean and Indonesian artistes such as Ahli Fiqir, Ferhad, Imran Ajmain, Ramli Sarip, Yuni Shara, Katon Bagaskara, Titi DJ, Tangga, Element and Slank, as well as Jordanian superstar Toni Qattan, will also be performing.

SuriaFM Green Everyday Concert 2007 is presented by TM Group and 1 Borneo. The event will also be aired live over SuriaFM, and via mStar Online and The Star Online.

A delayed telecast of the concert will be aired by Astro Ria on Sunday.

The concert, held in conjunction with The Star and SuriaFM’s Green Every Day 2007 campaign, will be held at the parking lot of the Bukit Jalil Stadium from 4pm to midnight. Admission is free.

Similar concerts will also be held in major cities around the world on the same day.
